About Fanfare

I have always loved animals and competition.  As a teenager I showed quarter horses and when I moved out on my own I wanted to continue to be involved with animals and competition on a smaller scale. I decided to try my hand at showing dogs. In 1990 I purchased my first show dog, a cocker spaniel named Kate. For the next five years I showed cocker spaniels, but decided I wanted a lower maintenance breed. After some research it soon became clear that the whippet was for me.

I acquired my first whippet in 1995 and have since bred numerous AKC Champions, Specialty Winners, a Best In Show winner, Specialty Best In Show Winner, Specialty Sweepstakes Winners, Award of Merit and Hound Group Winners, CWA titled dogs and ASFA field champions.. Fanfare whippets is located in central Wisconsin. I have had the good fortune to have the guidance of several knowledgeable breeders including Summit, Chelsea, De Sud and Leyenda and have  incorporated the best of their lines to help create Fanfare Whippets.  Each litter is carefully planned to hopefully exceed the quality of what has come before.
